One Month to Go

The countdown begins as today marks one month from my moving down to Orlando to begin working at Walt Disney World for the Disney College Program Fall 2018 session! I'm incredibly excited as yesterday I received my New Hire paperwork, which means my application status has officially change to 'Hired.'

For those new to my blog, the Disney College Program is an internship of sorts where I will be living and working at Walt Disney World in Florida for 5 months. College students are eligible to apply during their time at college, and essentially spend a semester working at Disney, while potentially taking online classes through their university. It's available to students of all majors (theatre, marketing, nursing, etc.) and an incredible opportunity to learn about the Walt Disney Company! I, however, as an athlete was unable to take a semester away from college as I would miss a large portion of training and competing. Luckily, you are able to participate in the DCP up until one year after graduating college, leaving me eligible to apply for the semester after I've graduated college. I'm incredibly lucky and fortunate to be able to partake in such a unique and magical experience! I went through a 3 step application process (which is covered in previous posts) and was accepted for the Fall 2018 program as a Merchandising Cast Member.

In merchandising, I will potentially working in one of the parks, or Disney Springs and will be working in retail, selling merchandise, souvenirs, etc. I won't find out my location until I've arrived in Orlando, but I'm excited nonetheless! I'll be living in employee housing at Disney, which means one of their four apartment complexes on the Disney grounds. I have my roommates picked out, and they seem like truly wonderful girls. They're in a wide range of roles from Attractions to Character Performer.

As I've mentioned several times, I'm incredibly excited about this opportunity!! Many of you know that Disney is a company that I hold very near and dear to my heart and I cannot wait to begin my journey with them!!

If you're interested in following along on my journey, please subscribe to my site to be alerted of any new posts! I'll be blogging throughout the duration of my program so friends and family can keep updated on my adventures with the DCP!

Thank you for reading. As always stay magical & stay tuned!
